We let our technical department make some draft drawings and documents for communications with customers many times, and we do an online tour of our factory with customers. And we quoted them with these 2 options; The drain stoppers are made from solid brass H59-1 with three times polishing and coating, they will approve the salt spray test after functional checking; These drain stoppers are with 36 months warranty.

The customer chose the exact copy ones with new tooling, so the customer dispatched original samples and package details to us one week later.

They are a few critical points. Because the thread of their drain is UNF from the United States, and the gasket EPDM is significantly thicker. The main thing is that the color is exceptional, oil-rubbed bronze. In the beginning, we consulted 11 plating factories just for the color, and only one of them could produce this color according to Brian’s inquiry. Then the rubber gasket and the body needed to be molded, but the setback came; the customer said he could not pay for the mold. After many communications, he finally agreed to pay for the mold only after the sample was tested and approved.

Finally, We agreed to open the new tooling mold for free and send samples; and bear the sample fee. There are 15 days of effort of Kevin and Sophia behind this. After more than 20 days, the samples were completed and looked good. QA&QC department checked it carefully and with three confirmations and approval. The samples were dispatched to Brian with confidence and expectation.

Time is flying; Mr. Brian said the sample passed the test but needed to add a manual according to their requirements. His wife did not want to increase the cost, which means we must afford the cost to cooperate, and then Kevin is actively promoting. Finally, We also agreed, and then Brian let Kim directly and Kevin docking.

Things did not go as smoothly as expected. Our initial order quantity was 1000 pieces each in our factory. But his wife-Mrs. Kim requested 500 pieces each only. Can you imagine the picture at that time?

The customer and Kevin did not want to give up on the project struggling for more than 5 months. Kevin took the initiative to call the customer to communicate thoughtfully once. After understanding the concerns of the first order, Hofen’s senior management finally accepted the customer’s request and order with Kevin’s efforts.

Since then, the official cooperation started, and before the mass production, Kevin sent 2 more free samples according to the color card to confirm; Kim was very happy.

This has been going on for more than 8 months.
